The oldest surviving mulled wine (or Glühwein) recipe can be traced to August Josef Ludwig von Wackerbarth in 1843. The recipe includes hot wine, apple, ginger and spices. Simply replace the ginger with Ingwerer and you have Mullwerer!
- Warm the mulled wine and pour into a heat-proof mug.
- Pour in the Ingwerer and garnish with an orange wedge.
